Hong Kong Disneyland to build 3 new attractions by this summer

Today Hong Kong Disneyland announced that it plans to add three new attractions to their small theme park as part of its long-term expansion plan. The additions include Autopia, Stitch Encounter and UFO Zone. (more…)

Changes at Disney Consumer Products

This week Disney announced that it will stop distributing its Disney Catalog that has filled the mailboxes of tens of millions of households for the last 10 years, and instead will focus on its online store. Disney returns to traditional hand-drawn cell animation

Trailer for Disney’s next animated feature film: The Wild

Disney released a trailer for their upcoming animated feature film The Wild, which comes out in the U.S. on April 14th (see other release dates). In this flm, a teenage lion is accidentally shipped from the New York Zoo to Africa. Now running free, his father, played by 24’s Kiefer Sutherland, and zoo pals must put aside their differences to help bring him back.

Disneyland hotels go smoke-free

The Disneyland resort in California is changing it’s smoking policy from March 1st; all hotels will become non-smoking. At the resort an average of no more than two requests per day come in for smoking rooms. (more…)

Toy Story 3 production continues anyway

Along with Walt Disney Company’s first quarter results on February 6th, Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger announced that Pixar will take over production of Toy Story 3, and that Disney plans to release two Pixar films each year — an increase over Pixar’s earlier goal of one per year. (more…)
