Disney-style Sudoku Magazine in France: Picsoudoku

PicsoudukoThis month saw the release of a new title in France, filled with 182 sudoku puzzles and 16 meters of comics: Picsoudoku, a special edition of the popular monthly Picsou Magazine.

The sudoku puzzles come in all shapes and sizes, and the magazine also includes some alternative sudoku puzzles. The comic stories run in one row of panels along the bottom of each page. (more…)

Voting for Disney comic stories added to I.N.D.U.C.K.S.

A new feature was added to the completest database of Disney comic stories in the world: I.N.D.U.C.K.S.. For each of the 170,000+ stories in the database you can now cast your vote of 1 to 10. You can already view a top 100 of stories, similar to the top 100 of titles, here at Disney Comics Worldwide. (more…)

New park rumor: Disneyland in Spain?

This weekend, the Sunday Times reported that Disney is talking with Spanish officials about building on farmland near the Spanish town of Manilva, on the Costa del Sol, a popular tourist area. Disney said it was investigating various possibilities, from a summer camp for children, to a full-scale theme park. (more…)

Carl Barks' Greatest DuckTales StoriesFollowing the DVD release of Disney’s DuckTales television series, Gemstone Publishing in the United States is releasing two special trade paperbacks titled Carl Barks’ Greatest DuckTales Stories.

The two 144-page books collect the vintage Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge adventures that were adapted to animation for DuckTales. (more…)

Dutch publisher Sanoma to ramp up pocket book production

Due to the tremendous success of the 256-page Donald Duck Pocket and 512-page Donald Duck Dubbel Pocket, Dutch publisher Sanoma Uitgevers has decided to increase the number of books published each year.

Until now, Sanoma published 8 issues of the regular pockets, and 2 issues of the double-sized pockets per year. These numbers will soon be increased to 12 and 4 respectively, bringing the total to 16 pocket books per year, encompassing over 5,000 comic book pages! (more…)

Sanoma brings Super Donald back to the Netherlands

Sanoma Uitgevers in the Netherlands will revive the popular Italian PK stories this year, with a new series titled Super Duck starting later this month. A second issue of Super Duck featuring Donald Duck as a superhero is scheduled for October. The publisher had originally introduced PK in the Netherlands in 1997, with Duck Power, but that series was cancelled from poor sales after just two issues. (more…)

Gemstone to publish Life of Scrooge Companion in September

Last year, Gemstone Publishing published a reprint of the original twelve chapters of Don Rosa’s epic story The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.

This September, the publisher is releasing a Companion book that will include all the pre-chapters, post-chapters and in-between chapters that were missing from the first book. (more…)

Two new Nemo-themed attractions revealed

Finding NemoAt the official opening of the brand-new Expedition Everest this weekend, President Al Weiss revealed two new attractions to be added to the list of upcoming attractions at the World, both based on the popular Pixar animated film Finding Nemo.
