Abril, now one of the largest publishers in the world with it's own TV channels, was founded in the 1950s when they started with Pato Donald.

Currently, there have been over 2,000 issues of Pato Donald, which features lots of Danish stories, including ones by Don Rosa and William van Horn.

Every issue has one puzzle-page and one page featuring addresses of children, who want to correspond with other children and numbers of Disney-issues that some people are still missing and searching. Every month, four issues of Pato Donald are bundled in one issue, called Almanaque Do Pato Donald.
