In 1989 two special issues of Pato Donald in English were produced, featuring Danish Donald Duck stories in English. Each issue was introduced by Donald Duck himself on the first page. In the second issue, he says:

"The first edition was a great success. All the magazines quickly disappeared from the newsstands! And I received so many telephone calls and letters askin for another all English edition that I just couldn't help preparing this Â… even greater success! Keep on practising your English and be sure you are the first in line at the nearest newsstand Â… or you'll miss all the fun!"
