The full title of this series is "Die Tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck Sonderheft" ("The most wonderful stories of Donald Duck").

This monthly magazine entertains both kids and young adults with comic stories and editorials. Starting with #171 (first issue 2001) the lettering and story compilation were changed and targeted to a more quality-oriented collector-based readership. It is a book in comic book format with more pages than the typical Disney weekly. For a time it published Barks exclusively, now mixed with other Duck stories.

In November 1965 the first issue was published. In the beginning it was frequently published, later three-monthly, today bimonthly.

The issues are not counted with a particular date, but with an increasing number that started in 1965 with number 1.
