Miky Maous is synonymous with comic magazines in Greece. The Disney name is more highly respected in Greece than anywhere else in the world.

Christos Terzopoulos started publishing Disney magazines in Greece in 1966, and remains the publisher today. The title of the first magazine naturally was Miky Maous. The publishing company's name was Evangelos Terzopoulos Publishing Enterprises. In 1988, the independent company Aktina was created to publish the titles Miky Maous, Megalo Miky and Klasika.

In 1985, Christos Terzopoulos created his own company Geniki Ekdotiki Attikis, which was later, renamed Ekdoseis Terzopoulos. Starting with Komix (the first and probably the best in its field), he thus began to extend the range of Disney magazines.

In 1999, Ekdoseis Terzopoulos and D.O.L jointly created Nea Aktina AE to publish Disney magazines together. These two groups publish newspapers and numerous other magazines. With an extended line-up of Disney titles covering most all categories, several special issues, and summer issues, Nea Aktina has a wide readership base. Summer is the best selling period for children's magazines.
