Launched in 1975, these very popular albums reprint all stories by legendary Carl Barks. The 134th album came out in October 2009, and with this all stories drawn by Barks have now been included in the series. There remain just a couple dozen stories completed by other artists, including the Junior Woodchucks stories that Barks wrote in the 1970s and that were more recently redrawn by Daan Jippes.It is a popular series that can be found in many book stores in the Netherlands, including reprints of older albums. Almost each cover in the series has an original cover by Dutch artist Daan Jippes. Every issue has a title, in which Donald is shown as someone or something, e.g. Donald Duck as Fireman or Donald Duck as Postman. All issues of this series are being reprinted in hardcover albums in the Donald Duck Collectie series, by Lecturama. |
