Katrien (="Daisy") is a popular magazine for girls in the Netherlands. It was launched in 1999 and contains modern stories that were specially created for this series by Dutch artists.

In 2006, the publisher started reprinting earlier issues of Katrien as new issues. So for instance the stories in issue #6 of 2006 are exactly the same as those in issue #6 of 2000. However, the 'new' issues don't mention this on the cover or inside, so unaware buyers may be buying issues they already have, just with a new date on them.

The stories inside Katrien feature stories starring Donald, his 3 nephews, Daisy and her 3 nieces as the main characters. The six kids are depicted as rivaling teenagers. They live in a modern Duckburg, skating and playing computer games.

A copy of Katrien was launched in September 2003 by Sanoma Uitgever's parent publisher in Finland: Iines.

How to get this title

The titles of Sanoma Uitgevers are for sale in most book and magazine shops and grocery stores in the Netherlands and the northern part of Belgium. Some popular titles are also distributed to popular holiday destiations like Spain in summer time.
