Walt Disney World
From 30 April to 6 May we stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside resort at Walt Disney World in Florida. We visited the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM-Studios, Animal Kingdom, DisneyQuest, Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon.

1/35 On 30 April Amy's parents dropped us off at the Port Orleans Riverside resort at Walt Disney World after our roadtrip of Southern Florida.

2/35 On our first day at the World we headed for the Magic Kingdom.
|
3/35 For the 50th anniversary of Disneyland in California, Cinderella's castle was beautifully decorated for the Happiest Celebration on Earth.

4/35 In the afternoon we took the monorail to Epcot, where we had dinner at Biergarten in the Germany pavilion and saw the Illuminations fireworks show.
|
5/35 On Sunday morning we crossed the bridge of the Sassagoula river at our resort toward our bus depot, where we took the bus to the Animal Kingdom.

6/35 Inside the Tree of Life, which stands at the center of the park, the first attraction we did was It's Tough to be a Bug, which was a great 3D Flick.

8/35 In the afternoon we headed for the MGM-Studios where we had a wonderful dinner at Hollywood and Vine and saw the Fantasmic show.

9/35 We also saw the impressive Indiana Jones stunt show.

10/35 On the third day we went to the Typhoon Lagoon water park in the morning.

11/35 In the afternoon we went back to the resort. This is the building with our room in Magnolia Bend of our resort. It is Parterre Place.

12/35 In the evening we took the boat from our resort to Downtown Disney, where we shopped at Market Place. This is World of Disney.

13/35 We had dinner at Wolfgang Puck and then spent some time at the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island.

14/35 On the next day we back to Epcot. Throughout the park were these topiary Disney characters for the Flower and Garden Festival.

15/35 Here we are at the Living Seas pavilion, where we saw one of our most favorite attractions, Turtle Talk with Crush.

17/35 We spent all day at Epcot until it closed at midnight.

18/35 At Mission: Space, also a great attraction, we sent home a video from this booth, with us as astronauts at the space station.

19/35 On the fifth day we went to DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney first, where we played the great Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blaster.
|
20/35 Amy got a pearl charm at the Pearl Factory from an oyster she picked herself.
|
21/35 Later that day we had dinner at the Grand Floridian resort (in the background on the other side of the lake here) and spent the evening at the Magic Kingdom and saw the Wishes fireworks show.

22/35 On Thursday 5 May, the official start of the 18-month Happiest Celebration on Earth, we started at Epcot's Future World and road the newest attraction Soarin' on it's opening day.

23/35 We walked around the World Showcase and are at Italy here.

25/35 We saw the show at the American Adventure.

26/35 At 1pm we were at the ladybug release for the Flower and Garden Festival.

27/35 Epcot closed early for a press event, so we took the boat from Epcot to Boardwalk and then to the MGM-Studios.

28/35 We did the Backlot Tour, the Lights, Motors, Action! stunt show (on opening day) and this is Streets of America. We also saw the very nice One Man's Dream museum.

29/35 In the evening we took the bus to the Fort Wilderness resort and saw the Hoop-Dee-Doo revue show.

30/35 On the seventh and last day at Walt Disney World we started the day at the Magic Kingdom where we did Big Thunder Mountain.

32/35 We walked from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary resort to take a bus to Downtown Disney, where we walked to the Double Tree hotel to pick up our rental car.

33/35 This is our Buick rental car at Downtown Disney.

34/35 We drove to the MGM-Studios for our last meal on our Dining Plan at the Sci Fi Dine-In restaurant, which had the best theming we had seen so far. We sat at tables inside cars at a drive-in.

35/35 We stayed for two nights at the Sevilla Inn on route 192 and did some final shopping before we flew back to Amsterdam on Sunday.
