October 2005
Paris, France
From 12 to 16 October 2005 we went to Paris for our fifth wedding anniversary. First we stayed a night at the Sequoia Lodge at Disneyland Paris. Then we moved to Paris where we visited the Louvre and went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The weather was beautiful.

1/26 We left in the evening of Wednesday 12 October and spent a night at a Formula One hotel east of Paris. On Thursday we arrived early at Disneyland Paris and checked into the Sequoia Lodge.

2/26 It was our fifth time in the park, but only the first time we stayed at on Disney property. Here is the huge hotel in the background as we start our 15 minute walk to the park.

4/26 Especially in Frontierland there were many pumpkins and 'pumpkin-men' that want to paint everything orange. Here you can see a contraption bringing orange paint to Big Thunder Mountain.

5/26 Some of the trees had already turned to beautiful fall colors. Here we are back at the resort in the afternoon to take a swim in the pool.

6/26 That evening we ate at Walt's restaurant on Main Street, which was very nice. The place was very nicely decorated and the food was very good.

7/26 On Friday the 14th we spent a second day at DLP. New to us was this large hot air balloon in front of Disney Village that takes passengers up every 15 minutes or so. We didn't do it; maybe next time.

8/26 Many of the pumpkin-men standing around are fake, but this year there were real ones. Here one comes up to Amy.

9/26 We were disappointed that there wasn't a single thing for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, a.k.a. Happiest Celebration On Earth. We thought all the parks this year had special events for this, but not here at DLP.

11/26 Here we are at Discoveryland after going twice on Space Mountain: Mission 2. We thought the original was already pretty great, but they changed the theming, lights and music during the ride, and now it is awesome!

14/26 The area with sculptures from Iran and the rest of Mesopotamia was most impressive. Check out these large statues.
