Today Hong Kong Disneyland announced that it plans to add three new attractions to their small theme park as part of its long-term expansion plan. The additions include Autopia, Stitch Encounter and UFO Zone. More »

This week Disney announced that it will stop distributing its Disney Catalog that has filled the mailboxes of tens of millions of households for the last 10 years, and instead will focus on its online store. In addition Disney has abandoned eBay for their auctions and has started a new Disney Auctions website. More »

Two years after Disney reported Home on the Range would be its final traditionally hand-drawn animated feature film, the company is reportedly returning to the art with their forthcoming feature, Enchanted, due to be released in 2007. More »

Disney released a trailer for their upcoming animated feature film The Wild, which comes out in the U.S. on April 14th (see other release dates). In this flm, a teenage lion is accidentally shipped from the New York Zoo to Africa. Now running free, his father, played by 24’s Kiefer Sutherland, and zoo pals must put aside their differences to help bring him back.

The Disneyland resort in California is changing it’s smoking policy from March 1st; all hotels will become non-smoking. At the resort an average of no more than two requests per day come in for smoking rooms. More »

The Standard reports that Disney officials have for the first time admitted that they are negotiating to build a fifth Disney theme park in Shanghai, China. More »

Along with Walt Disney Company’s first quarter results on February 6th, Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger announced that Pixar will take over production of Toy Story 3, and that Disney plans to release two Pixar films each year — an increase over Pixar’s earlier goal of one per year. More »
