Swedish 1948 Kalle Anka sells for US$ 4,000

On Saturday, the first edition of the Swedish Kalle Anka (“Donald Duck”) magazine was sold for SEK 30,000 (or approximately US$ 4,000) at an auction in Göteborg.

The auction house, Göteborgs Auktionsverk, had started the bidding of the slightly used 1948 Disney comic at 12,000 Swedish Kroner (SEK) but was sold to an anonymous buyer for SEK 30,000.

The very first issue of the popular weekly magazine has a cover price of only SEK 0.60
