Winnie the Pooh turns 80 today
Posted on October 14th 2006 in Disney comics, EventsThe first book of Winnie the Pooh, by writer Alan Alexander Milne, came out in England on 14 October 1926, which makes the bear 80-years-old today. Winnie the Pooh soon became popular with children and adults alike, and when Walt Disney acquired the rights to the Pooh universe in 1961, the adventures of the chubby little bear were captured forever on film.
Egmont Ehapa celebrates the event this month with a special edition of their Winnie Puuh magazine, which has a printrun of approximately 160,000.
