Disney Publishing Worldwide has announced a licensing agreement with Indian publisher Junior Diamond to publish Disney comic books in India. Two new titles are scheduled to launch this month: Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse will each be available in English and Hindi and the publisher is planning additional versions in regional languages for the south India market. The 32-page monthly comic books, which will sell for Rs. 25 (approximately US$ 0.50) will each have a printrun of 50,000 copies.
This is not the first attempt of Disney comics in India. In 1996 Egmont India launched several titles, including a 36-page monthly Mickey Mouse comic.

Sounds like a good reason to visit India, yes?
Sounds like a ridiculous reason for Diamond to not be able to publish Disney comics in the USA. Wow.
@Art: I don’t think that Diamond Comics (comicsdiamond.com) in India is the same company as Diamond Comic Distributors (diamondcomics.com) in the USA.
Maybe if Gemstone goes back to publishing their Disney Comics they can bring back Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse along side Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories, and Uncle Scrooge.
