I hope you like the new and refreshed look of Disney Comics Worldwide. The new site is bolder, brighter and bigger. The most obvious change is that the pages are wider and the text size is larger, which makes it easier to read, but I have also added a few small improvements here and there, for instance: each title page now has a ‘Leave a comment’ section; the list of titles on the country pages can be instantly switched between all, active and cancelled; the list of titles on the comic pages is hidden, but can be expanded, and I have optimised the source code and many of the images so that the pages are much smaller in size and thus will load faster. For the first time since 2000, world famous Duck artist Don Rosa will visit Germany in September and October 2006 for the Frankfurt Book Messe and a signing tour in several German cities. The exact dates are not yet fixed, but DuckMania already has a list of possible dates and places.

A spectacular collection of over 11,000 Golden Age comic books from a wide variety of genres has been discovered in the garage of a 19th century house just outside New York City. The original-owner comics collection has the greatest range and depth of any such collection to have been discovered during the past three decades. Now the entire collection is headed to the auction block, to be offered to the comic collecting public with no reserves. More »

This year’s 400th anniversary of Rembrandt van Rijn is celebrated with exhibits and special events throughout Amsterdam, Leiden, and of course Duckburg! Last week’s issue of Dutch Donald Duck Weekly was centered around the Dutch painter, with its own version of one of Rembrandt’s most famous works, The Nightwatch. More »

After a sudoku Disney magazine in France, Picsoudoku, the Netherlands also saw the release of a Donald Duck sudoku puzzle magazine: Suducku, a special of the series Donald Duck Puzzelpret (“Donald Duck Puzzle Fun”). The magazine has 70 puzzles and is available at stores across the Netherlands for EUR 2.95.
