The English translated title of this series is Junior Woodchucks' Library. It is a pocket sized factbook that covers a variety of subjects. The first book was named Sudenpentujen käsikirja after the book guidebook the Junior Woodchucks use in their adventures, first introduced by legendary Carl Barks. The series started in the early 70's. Due to the large success right after the launch, another series was started a few years later. This book was called Sudenpentujen Käsikirja 2 and it was a sequel to the first one. These books are about 180 to 190 pages and were a huge success. The first one's been reprinted at least 14 times. The series also includes a book called Pelle Pelottoman käsikirja (Gyro Gearloose's handbook). It presents some of the greatest inventions in the world and gives instructions on how to make inventions & machines of your own. Mickey Mouse's Book of Magic, Goofy's Detective Guide and The Handbook of a Little Artist are also parts of the series. Many thanks to Juha Viiki for this information! :o) |
