Komix was launched in July 1998 as a 52-page magazine dedicated to Carl Barks featuring classic Disney stories and editorials. Since its launch, the range of characters and designers has expanded to include such artists as Don Rosa, Romano Scarpa, Floyd Gotfredson, Al Taliaferro, Paul Murry, William Van Horn and many others.
The magazine has gradually increased the number of its pages. Since August 2001 it has had 84 pages. 'Double' issues (with fifty per cent more pages) are occasionally printed.
