Amici Disney was launched shortly after the launch of Ridi Topolino in the first half of 1997, and is dedicated to children and their relationship with animals. As evidence that good ideas travel, the monthly is based on the German Kleine Tierfreunde, and teaches children about their furry and feathered friends and how to best care for them. A special veterinarian page in ech issue provides medical information. Amici Disney also included three to four comic stories featuring Disney animal characters such as Simba, Scamp and the 101 Dalmatians.
