The Walt Disney Company Italy launched a new magazine for girls aged 6 to 10, called Minni & Company in May of 1993. The 192-page magazine contains comic stories featuring Minni and Daisy, as well as editorial sections designed for young girls. Minni & Co. is the first magazine in Italy to be fully printed in five colors. The fifth color in the first issue was silver, and in the second issue it is gold. The fifth color is used in the comic stories, on the editorial pages and on the cover. The front and back cover each fold out to reveal flaps with press-out Daisy and Minni bookmarks. The size of the magazine is 140 x 205 mm, which is similar to the other popular Italian Disney comics. The size is easy to handle and fits well with teh wide range of existing Disney magazins which already have a large space dedicated to them in most kiosks. After 10 days on the news stand, before the national television advertising campaign even began, one-half of the print-run was sold. Following the advertising campaign, the copies nearly sol dout! The next print-run was increased! The success of the magazine meets all of the hopes of the Disney Italy magazines division.
