About Disney-Jaww Enterprises
The local Disney operation, Disney-Jaww Enterprises (Middle East), is a joint venture between Disney and the Jawa family of Saudi Arabia. It began operating in early 1994. Today, 20 people staff two offices in Dubai and Jeddah. The joint venture is a unique Disney set-up where Publishing, Merchandise, Home Video, Music and Interactive are all handled under one roof. Among its notable achievements are the lobbying for copyright laws now being promulgated and enforced; the signing of 150 licensees; the introduction of quality Arabic dubbing and publishing programs; the establishment of 32 Disney Corners andthe organization of eight licensee / distributor seminars.
