Gladstone published two series of Donald Duck Adventures: from 1987 to 1990 (issues 1 to 20) and from 1993 to 1997 (issues 21 to 48). The three-year period in between was the time that Disney Comics took over the license to publish Disney comics in the United States. Disney had their own Donald Duck Adventures title but with separate numbering.
Gladstone's Donald Duck Adventures contained a mixture of European stories and new American material by artists like Don Rosa and William van Horn.
