The first weekend of May in 2004 we went to London for a few days to see Gillian Anderson in the West End. We also visited the National Gallery, British Museum and did a lot of walking around, sightseeing and shopping.

1/12 After collecting our bags at Luton airport, we took a Greenline bus into London.

2/12 We found a coupon in the easyJet magazine for free Hot Fudge Sundaes at Hard Rock Cafe. It expired on 30 April so we were just in time!

3/12 We looked at the Assyrian collection at the British Museum, and later joined a free mini-tour of the Egyptian collection.

4/12 As usual there was a huge crowd gawking at the Rosetta Stone.

5/12 We relaxed with some frappuccinos at Starbuck's while planning the rest of the day.

6/12 Friday night we saw Gillian Anderson in The Sweetest Swing in Baseball (fabulous!). Afterwards we joined the hoards of autograph-seeking fans.

7/12 Arthur managed to get some photos, but alas he didn't manage to get his program signed.

8/12 Our room at the Boulevard Hotel was very clean, and we were pleased to have en-suite facilities, but it was very tiny.

9/12 On Sunday the weather brightened up a bit and we had a stroll around Picadilly Circus.

10/12 It's not allowed to feed the pigeons in Trafalgar Square anymore, but at least they can still enjoy a free shower.

11/12 We paid a visit to the National Gallery.

12/12 Sunday afternoon we had a warm lunch at the pub Lamb & Flag (and for once we remembered to take the photo before we started eating!).
