2007 The year 2007 We started 2007 with a birding vacation in Gambia. In the spring we had many sunny weekends where we visited places in Holland, like Keukenhof and Texel. In May we were in Andalusia in the south of Spain and in October we had a diving holiday in Egypt. [Back to index]	1/18 From 5 to 15 January 2007 we were in The Gambia where we did a five-day birdwatching safari upriver to Georgetown and saw 177 different species of birds. More photos	2/18 On 11 March we went to Flevoland for a day at Oostvaardersplassen. We saw Red Deer, Konik wild horses and several new birds. More photos
3/18 On April 1st we drove through Noord Holland and visited Zwanewater nature reserve. Here we are on the coast at Camperduin.	4/18 Saturday 21 April was another sunny day and we took the train to Veluwezoom National Park in the east of the Netherlands. More photos	5/18 On Friday 27 April we went to Keukenhof for a day.
6/18 On Sunday 29 April we took the train to Den Helder and then the ferry to Texel. We biked around the island the whole day and saw many spoonbill like this one.	7/18 From 17 to 27 May 2007 we visited Huelva province in Andalucia, Spain. We did a lot of birding in the area's nature reserves and visited Sevilla, Huelva, Riotinto and Tavira (Portugal). 9/18 On 14 July we visited Waverhoek and Botshol, north of Utrecht, for a ranger-led boat excursion by Natuurmonumenten. Article and photos	10/18 On 21 July we drove around Waterland in Noord Holland and visited the towns of Volendam and Marken. See article about sparrows	11/18 27 to 29 July we visited Arthur's parents on their holiday in Drenthe and did lots of fun things including treetop walking and sea habilitation center Pieterburen.
12/18 On 24 August we visited Giethoorn ('Venice of the North') and rented an electric boat to go around the canals and nature area. We also saw this ice cream boat.	13/18 On 25 August we visited the Vogelfestival ('Bird Festival') in Flevoland. See article and photos	14/18 3 Oktober was the annual '3 oktober festival' in Leiden and we visited the kermis as usual.
15/18 From 6 to 16 October we visited South Sinai and stayed at Amar Sina Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh. We dived and snorkeled with Colona Divers and visited Ras Mohamed NP, Nabeq NP and St. Catherine's Monastery. See article about the hotel and more photos	16/18 On 3 and 4 November we had our annual family weekend, which we spent at a large house near the town of Neede in Gelderland. Here we are on a Berkelzomp.	17/18 We went to south pier at IJmuiden several times at the end of the year to look for birds and whales. See this article
18/18 On 20 December we flew to Chicago to stay with Amy's parents for Christmas. Here we are at Wright Woods Forest Preserve.
