Shopping for dates

The Almere-Buiten branch of the Dutch supermarket “Plus” has introduced special shopping baskets for single customers. Shoppers who use a purple shopping basket are indicating to other shoppers that they are available.
According to Plus staff, the purple-basket promotion is a great success. Shoppers have been seen exchanging phone numbers, but so far it is unknown if any long-term relationships have developed as a result of shopping at Plus.
The shopping for dates idea, complete with “flirting points”, has been working at German Walmarts to great success for over a year.
